Myths about Penis Size and Shape in India

Average Penis Size: What’s Normal?

Many people experience anxiety about whether their penis is big enough and if it will satisfy their sexual partner. This can affect a person’s self-confidence and self-image. Often, however, these fears are unfounded. While sizes vary widely, the average length is probably 12.9–13.97 cm (5.1–5.5 in), and most likely toward the smaller end of this scale. While results vary slightly, most studies estimate the average to be within this range.

In this article, we look at some facts from various scientific studies to try and provide a realistic answer to this question. For many, this will offer reassurance about what to expect of the average penis size. The study also found that the size of a person’s erect penis did not correlate with their flaccid penis size. In other words, a penis may have different lengths when flaccid but similar lengths when erect. They also found no link between age and penis size.

The researchers concluded: “Only men with a flaccid length of less than 4 cm (1.6 in), or a stretched or erect length of less than 7.5 cm (3 in) should be considered candidates for penile lengthening.”

How to measure a penis

To measure penis length, press a ruler into the groin and measure from the base of the penis to the tip. To measure penis girth, wrap a measuring tape around the widest part of the penis.

Penis size: Do partners care?

Some males worry about whether their penis size will live up to the desires of a partner. However, some older research suggests that penis length is not important for many female partners. Researches also suggest most of the womens are satisfied with their partners penis size.

When to seek penis enlargement

Hormone treatment, surgery, and other techniques can increase the size of a very small penis. However, these treatments carry risks, and most people do not have a small enough penis to warrant these options. Doctors do not usually recommend treatment unless a penis has a flaccid length of under 4 cm (1.6 in) or a stretched or erect length of less than 7.5 cm (3 in). Experts highlight concerns about the number of males seeking surgery to lengthen their penis. Often, these people overestimate the size of an average penis.

Does Penis Size Really Matter?

These concerns of inadequacy have consequences. Men who believed their penis size was too small were less likely to undress in front of their partner, more likely to hide their penis during sex, and more likely to judge themselves unattractive. On the other hand, men who thought they had a large penis were likely to be more self-confident and believe themselves to be attractive. Interestingly, 84 percent of the women surveyed reported that they were satisfied with their partner’s penis size.

So it’s not her problem, guys — it’s yours. That’s not the end of the story, though. Penis size does matter to women, but it turns out that when women talk about penis size, it’s usually about the width, not the length.

Penis Size: What Really Matters

Penis size is not the final determining factor in a man’s ability to satisfy a woman or enjoy sex. The two of the most sexually sensitive areas for a woman, the clitoris and the G-spot, are both easily reached and aroused.

If you feel your penis is too skinny to satisfy your lover, there are ways around that as well. Sex toy companies have created latex or rubber rings or sleeves that fit around the penis and provide that feeling of fullness for her.

The average penis sizes:

  • A flaccid penis length falls somewhere close to the range of 3.6 inches or 9.16 centimeters
  • A flaccid penis girth circumference is 3.66 inches.
  • An erect penis length falls close to 5.16 inches.
  • An average erect penis girth has a circumference of about 4.59 inches.
  • If you’re like most men, you’re probably surprised by how low the figure of one’s average penis size truly is. This can most likely be attributed to how porn consumption has distorted our perception of an actual penis size.

Let’s get straight to the point: Yes. Getting an accurate penile length does matter:

But it’s not solely because of bragging rights or a symbol of sexual wellness. An accurate reading can help you in deciding the right condom size when making the trip down the convenience store.

A condom that’s smaller than your penis can become too tight in the heat of sexual activity. This sense of discomfort can be enough to compel you to remove it when the rush of blood and hormones run wild. A condom that’s larger than your penis, on the other hand, can fall off prematurely or tear during the heat of action.

In both cases, you’re leaving you and your sexual partner exposed to unnecessary health risks. Another reason why getting an accurate reading is important is because an inaccurate size can lead to your doctor incorrectly diagnosing your sexual health condition.

Here’s the correct process on how to measure penis length:

  • Grab a ruler or tape measure.
  • Begin by putting the end at the tip of your penis.
  • Measure in a straight line from the penis head, down the shaft, and then to the tip of your pubic bone.
  • Don’t press the pubic bone, and push past any excess fat or pubic hair that may get in the way.
  • Get the measurement at the pubic bone and note it down. That’s your real measurement.
